Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech to Essaouira
Start your adventure with a pickup from your Riad/Hotel in Marrakech, kicking off the Atlantic
Coast Desert Tour. Explore the UNESCO-protected city of Essaouira, where you’ll find the
echoes of Portuguese settlers from the 16th century. The massive fortress with its white-washed,
blue-shuttered houses, right at sea level, is famous for its exquisite handcrafts. Wrap up the day
with an overnight stay and dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Essaouira to Agadir
Leave the historic city of Essaouira behind, heading towards Agadir and passing by Argan tree
plantations where local goats do some impressive climbing. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes
along the Atlantic coast, reaching Agadir in the late afternoon. Relax with dinner and spend the
night at the hotel.
Day 3: Agadir to Legzira via Aglou and Mirelft Beach
After a hearty breakfast, journey from Agadir to Tiznit, affectionately known as the Silver city.
Follow the coast, visit Aglou beach and then on to Mirleft for lunch and some chill time before
heading to your hotel at Legzira beach.
Day 4: Legzira Beach, Tafraoute to Taroudant
Embark on a day trip from Legzira beach to Taroudant, exploring new trails through the Anti
Atlas foothills. Take in small oases and Berber villages surrounded by desert mountains. By
evening, arrive at Tafraoute village, perched 1,200m above sea level, amid a landscape of pink
granite blocks glowing in sunset hues of pink, ocher, and purple. End the day with dinner and an
overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5: Taroudant to Erg Chigaga via Tazenakht and Foum-Zguid
After a delicious breakfast, set off toward the impressive dunes of Erg Chigaga. Along the way,
visit Taliouine berber villages and take an off-road adventure to the mesmerizing landscape of
Erg Chigaga desert. Upon reaching the large dunes, saddle up on your camel for a journey to
your campsite for the night.
Day 6: Erg Chigaga, M’hamid, Draa Valley to Ouarzazate
Enjoy the fresh morning breeze and the sunrise at the Chigaga dunes before heading towards
Zagora, with a pit stop in M’hamid for a cup of tea. Explore the historical village of Tamgroute,
with its underground kasbah and Koran library. Continue toward Zagora for lunch, then explore
the Draa Valley with its palm trees, kasbahs, and traditional houses. Reach Ouarzazate, often
referred to as the Hollywood of Morocco, for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 7: Ouarzazate to Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou and the Atlas Mountains
After breakfast, journey to Marrakech through the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s
most spectacular fortified villages. This village served as a passage for caravan traders through
the Atlas Mountains and Berber villages. Enjoy lunch in the mountains and arrive in Marrakech
by late evening.
