9 Days of Moroccan Wonders: Immerse Yourself in the Authentic Beauty of Morocco

Overview

Nine days to experience the very soul of Morocco. This grand tour links the four imperial cities (Rabat, Meknes, Fes, and Marrakech) with the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the cedar forests and Berber villages of the Atlas, and the golden dunes of the Sahara. The highlight: a camel trek over the Erg Chebbi dunes and a night in a Berber camp beneath a sky full of stars. History, culture, mountains, and desert, all in one authentic journey.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Marrakech → Casablanca → Rabat

Pick-up in Marrakech and departure for Casablanca, where you’ll admire the majestic Hassan II Mosque, rising over the Atlantic. Continue to the capital, Rabat, to discover the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the picturesque Kasbah of the Udayas. Overnight in Rabat.

Day 2 : Rabat → Meknes → Volubilis → Fes

Drive to Meknes, the imperial city of Sultan Moulay Ismaïl, with its monumental Bab Mansour gate and vast royal granaries. Nearby, explore the UNESCO-listed Roman ruins of Volubilis, then continue to Fes. Overnight in Fes.

Day 3 : Fes (full day)

A full day exploring Fes el-Bali, the world’s largest car-free medina. Visit the Al-Qaraouiyine (one of the oldest universities in the world), the Bou Inania Medersa, the famous tanneries, and the maze of artisan souks with a local guide. Overnight in Fes.

Day 4 : Fes → Ifrane → Azrou → Midelt → Merzouga (Sahara)

Cross the Middle Atlas via Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the cedar forests of Azrou, home to Barbary apes. Travel through Midelt and the palm-lined Ziz Valley to Erfoud and Merzouga. At sunset, set off on a two-hour camel trek over the Erg Chebbi dunes to your Berber camp, with dinner, music, and a night under the stars.

Day 5 : Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley

Wake for a spectacular sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, travel via Rissani and Tinerhir to the towering cliffs of the Todra Gorge, then continue to the Dades Valley. Overnight in Dades.

Day 6 : Dades → Valley of Roses → Ouarzazate → Aït Ben Haddou

Follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through the Valley of Roses (Kelaâ M’Gouna) and the Skoura oasis to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” with its Taourirt Kasbah and film studios. Continue to the UNESCO kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou. Overnight nearby.

Day 7 : Aït Ben Haddou → Tizi n'Tichka → Marrakech

Explore the fortified village of Aït Ben Haddou in the morning, then cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m) back to Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 8 : Marrakech (full day)

Guided tour of the red city: the Koutoubia minaret, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the vibrant souks, ending in the buzzing Jemaa el-Fna square. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 9 : Departure

Free time to enjoy Marrakech before your transfer to the airport, and the end of an unforgettable journey.

 vérifié Excellent tour service If you're Moroccan or international tourist planing to go on trip to the south of Morocco to discover the sahara desert so i really recommend you to visit Zagora city and to contact with Mr. Lahbib who is doing great a job..I'm pretty sure that you will enjoy an unforgettable experience with him and his professional team..Mr.Lahbib will help you to explore The beauty of sahara , the culture , the delicious food , the greatest dunes etc..doing activities like camel excursion...based on my personal experience I can definitely give them 5 stars excellent communication skills as well outstanding guests services which will exceed your expectations..

Umsichtig und auf unsere Bedürfnisse bedacht hat uns Lahabib mit einem Fahrer ca 14 Tage durch das südliche Marocco geführt.  vérifié Morocco Desert Travels We had a fantastic time on our tour of Morocco from Fez to Marrakech and we have our awesome driver and guide, Mustapha, to thank for much of that (10/2019). He was happy to answer our many questions and found interesting sites and people along the way to give us a better understanding of the land and culture. When Mustapha realized how much my husband enjoyed photography he made sure we had lots of opportunities to stop and take pictures and never rushed us. He even took pictures of the two of us so now we have great photos of us together. Mustapha was an excellent driver making sure we were comfortable and safe on the road. In addition, all of the accommodations he took us to were very nice and the food was delicious. We highly recommend this experience to anyone wishing to explore Morocco.

Our 5 days trip was really incredible excellent! We have seen a lot of places, towns, landscapes, traditions and learnt about history and food in Morocco and North Africa. We’ve felt always comfortable, safe and very happy, this was possible thanks to our guide Lahbib! His English made everything easy for us during the tour.
