Our first stop is Taroudant, located in the Sous valley and often referred to as the "Grandmother of Marrakech" due to its resemblance to a smaller Marrakech. Taroudant served as the capital of the Saadi dynasty before it was moved to Marrakech in the 16th century. The town has a rich history, having been occupied by the Almoravids in 1056. Today, Taroudant is renowned for its local crafts, including jewelry and carpets. The town also boasts a small tannery, known for producing leather goods such as sandals, bags, and belts. You'll have some time to explore the town before we continue our journey to Taliouine.
Taliouine is our next destination and is famous for being the primary town for saffron production in Morocco. Considered the heart of the saffron-growing area, Taliouine is home to a cooperative where you can purchase saffron if you're interested. Afterward, we'll head to Taznakht, known for its handwoven carpets and rugs crafted using traditional Moroccan methods. These rugs are made from premium wool and feature authentic Amazigh designs in earthy color palettes. Our journey continues to the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, located 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate. After about an hour and a half of driving, we'll arrive at one of the famous spots in the High Atlas, Todra Gorge, located 16 kilometers from Tinghir. The gorge consists of several canyons and a large river, offering panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. Todra Gorge is also a popular destination for tourists and locals interested in climbing and hiking in its canyons. After exploring the gorge, you'll enjoy lunch at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the river.

Before starting the camel ride to explore the golden Sahara, we'll take a break for a cup of Berber whisky, also known as Mint Tea. As you ride through the dunes, you'll experience the magnificent views of the desert. When you're close to reaching the desert camp, we'll stop for a sunset view on top of a dune, providing a spectacular highlight of your trip. After dinner at the desert camp, you'll have the opportunity to listen to and play local music under the starry sky around the campfire, spending the night in a traditional Berber nomad tent.
