3 Valleys Day Trip From Marrakech
3 Valleys Day Trip From Marrakech: Berber Villages, Waterfalls and Atlas Views
Escape the city for a day in the High Atlas. Walk through green valleys, visit Berber villages, share mint tea with a local family and enjoy lunch with views of Mount Toubkal, then finish with a waterfall and a walk under ancient walnut trees.
The 3 valleys day trip from Marrakech shows you a quieter side of Morocco. The day takes you through the Imlil, Asni and Amizmiz valleys, with stops in Berber villages, an argan cooperative and the Agafay desert landscape, plus a camel ride. The air is cooler, the pace is slower, and the views over terraced fields and snow-dusted peaks are a world away from the medina.
This is a day for people who want to meet locals and breathe mountain air, not just tick off sights. You spend quality time with a Berber family over mint tea, walk the village paths that people use every day, and learn how life works at altitude. Toubkal, at 4,167 m, is the highest peak in North Africa, and on a clear day you see it and its sister peaks from the village where lunch is served.

The tour starts at 9 am. We pick you up at your accommodation in Marrakech, or at Cafe de France on Jemaa el-Fna if you are staying in the city centre, and set off towards the mountains while Marrakech is still waking up. Leave your heavy bags at the hotel and bring a light jacket, because the temperature drops as the road climbs.

What to wear
Comfortable shoes with good grip for walking, a light jacket for the mountains and sun protection. Layers work best because mornings and afternoons can feel very different.
Fitness
The walk is easy to moderate. Mules are available if you prefer not to walk, and you can go at your own pace.
Best season
Spring and autumn are ideal. Winter days can be cold, and snow may appear on the peaks, which makes for beautiful views.
Meeting point
If you are in the centre of Marrakech, we can meet you at Cafe de France on Jemaa el-Fna.
Respect for village life
Dress modestly in the villages, ask before taking photos of people and take your rubbish back with you.
Cash
Bring some cash for lunch, drinks, mule transport and tips, because cash machines are rare in the mountain villages.

Thanks a lot.Publié sur Tripadvisor![]()

Morocco Desert Travels We had a fantastic time on our tour of Morocco from Fez to Marrakech and we have our awesome driver and guide, Mustapha, to thank for much of that (10/2019). He was happy to answer our many questions and found interesting sites and people along the way to give us a better understanding of the land and culture. When Mustapha realized how much my husband enjoyed photography he made sure we had lots of opportunities to stop and take pictures and never rushed us. He even took pictures of the two of us so now we have great photos of us together. Mustapha was an excellent driver making sure we were comfortable and safe on the road. In addition, all of the accommodations he took us to were very nice and the food was delicious. We highly recommend this experience to anyone wishing to explore Morocco.Publié sur Tripadvisor![]()
